What Should I Wear??

Neturals! Everybody loves a good beige or brown. They go with everything (hence the name “neutrals”), and you can’t really go wrong.

At the end of the day, you get to decide! But don’t ever hesitate to reach out to your photographer if you’re unsure of what to wear. They’ll be more than happy to help you out.
If you DO want to wear color, I would suggest blues and greens, anything that’s on the earthier side. Earthy tones look fantastic in natural settings. But if you’re looking for more of a pop of color, I would suggest a solid background or a studio session, that way you’re not competing with the natural earth colors. Bright colors look great on solid backgrounds.

Solids, solids, solids. I know you might love patterns, and they do add a little spice to your outfit, but spice isn’t necessarily what you’re looking for in photos. The photos are meant to focus on you, not your outfit, and you don’t want anything detracting from your lovely face! Another reason to wear solids is because patterns can be distracting. Put a pattern up against a clump of flowering trees or an array of foliage, and what you have is a confusing image, and your eyes don’t know where to look. The simpler, the better, in my humble opinion

What’s the vibe of your photoshoot? If you can figure that out, and find a themed outfit, you’ll be golden. If it’s a spring session in a field of flowers, pastels or even a small floral print would probably look great! Is it a studio session? You’ll probably want to go with something a little dressier. Is it a vintage shoot, a western shoot? Sit tight with the theme, and it’ll add a whole new level to your portraits.

Take a peek at your photographer’s gallery and take note of their style. If they tend toward cooler tones, light blues, greens, and whites would be perfect. Do they have warmer tones? Look for something lighter like whites and neutrals.

First of all, I want to say, you should always wear something you're comfortable in and that feels like represents you and your style. You, the client, have the last say in what you wear as you are the one paying for the photos. But if you’re stuck in a root and feel a little lost as to what to wear, here are a few tips.
